Biography
Wendy McLeod MacKnight grew up in St. Stephen, NB, with a library card as her prized possession. Over the course of her professional life, she was responsible for early childhood and child welfare programming, and ended her public service career as Deputy Minister of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. Wendy is the author of three middle grade novels, all of which are set in New Brunswick: It’s a Mystery, Pig Face! (2017), The Frame-Up (Harper Collins Greenwillow Books, 2018), which has been translated into Chinese and French and The Copycat (Harper Collins Greenwillow Books 2020), which was a Rocky Mountain Book Awards finalist. She recently worked on the Arts curriculum for DEECD, tying storytelling with art. Wendy received the 2017 Atlantic Booksellers’ Emerging Author award, was called One to Watch by Quill and Quire magazine, and been reviewed by the Wall Street Journal. She is represented by the LKG Agency in New York City.
