Biography:
Portage Vale area near Elgin in 1996. In 1985, I attended the Maritime Writers'
Workshop at UNB and again in 1988 and 1989. I was a regular at the Moncton
Writers' Breakfast and upon moving to the country, became a member of the Sussex
Writers' and Illustrators' Guild. In 2004, I travelled to the Banff Centre for
the five-week Writing Studio where I worked on my Jewelweed manuscript. Poetry
is an abiding interest: my early work harkens back to the prairies; in later
years, I've explored the glosa form (Sylvia Plath is an inspiration) and now, I
seem to be influenced by Emily Dickinson, both her work and her
history.
I continue to write and perform for children. This summer
(2010), a friend and I travelled to Tatmagouche for a Sheree Fitch workshop. We
enjoyed the connection with other children's writers and vowed to return,
published book in hand!Notes
